Snowy Plovers

The bird (below, on the left) was observed wrapped in fishing line in mid-February. Point Blue was alerted and contacted CA Fish & Wildlife. When they investigated 2/17/22 they didn't see this bird but did rescue a one-legged Snowy plover (bird on right). She was transferred to International Bird Rescue in Cordelia. Two more attempts to locate the "fishing line plover" were unsuccessful. However, it was subsequently reported on Gazos Creek Beach a week later.
Update - On March 2 the "fishing line plover" was caught. She was taken to Monterey SPCA for treatment.
